A Grown Up Hot Mess is still just a hot mess. Submitted for the Hot Mess Art Contest.
The idea for this is something that happened recently for me. I was taking my kids to the park when I witnessed an older child push my son off the swing. Their voices are the thoughts that ran through my mind.
-Panda is my "Mama Bear" voice. Everything for her is black and white. You mess with the cubs, she'll tear you apart. -The Owl is my proper self. Those books he's standing on are various etiquette, manners, and social graces. He's read each one dozens of times -The Frog is my Zen. He's the little voice telling me to relax and calm down. Things will work out best if I don't over react. -And the Platypus. Not a duck, and not a beaver. He believes himself (and therefore, me) to be an outcast. That no matter what I do, the worst will happen. His is the voice I hear most often.
Materials used: paper, color pencils, and picnik . com for the lettering.
